How to advertise your application
If you are making an application for a new premises licence or club premises certificate, or a full or minor variation to an existing licence or certificate, you must display a notice in a prominent visible location at the premises and in some cases place a notice in a local newspaper.
Please use the relevant template from the below list:
- new premises or club premises licence
- variation to a premises or club premises
- minor variation to a premises or club premises licence
The site notice must be:
- A4 size or larger
- printed legibly or typed in black ink in font size 16 or bigger
We are happy to check a draft of the notice for you before publication, to ensure it is correct. To do this, please email us your draft notice, with a copy of your application (or draft application).
We will confirm the closing date for use in the notice once you have submitted the application and we recommend you wait for this confirmation before placing any newspaper notice.
If applying for a new premises licence/club certificate or a full variation to an existing premises licence/club premises certificate
The notice must be on blue paper and must be displayed for 28 consecutive days starting from the day after you submit your application.
You must also publish the notice in a locally circulated newspaper within ten working days starting from the day after you submit your application.
If applying to make a minor variation to an existing premises licence/club premises certificate
The notice must be on white paper and must be displayed for ten working days starting from the day after you submit your application.
Those applying for minor variations do NOT need to publish a notice in a local newspaper.
